Core Knowledge Curriculum and Integrated Arts
Our strong curriculum is aligned with Arizona Standards and Core Knowledge Sequences, and integrated with the visual and performing arts. Arts education benefits the student because it cultivates the whole child. It builds many kinds of literacy while developing intuition, reasoning, imagination, visualization and dexterity that results in unique forms of expression and communication. Arts education benefits society because students of the arts gain powerful tools for understanding human experiences both past and present. This gives students the ability to respect different ways of thinking, working and expressing oneself. Our focus on leadership skills emphasizes respect for human dignity, the worth of each person as a unique individual, and social responsibility. The development of leadership, character, and ethics skills is an ever-evolving, life-long process. Our aim is to empower our students, so that they, in turn, will empower others. |
